Aligoté Les Péteurs
When friends are this good, what's not to like. Another refreshing take on Aligoté from Paul and Willy that packs a serious punch, yet is thought provoking and interesting.
From an old parcel dating back to the early 1960s in Chassey le Camps, just 5km from Bouzeron. This plot has been purchased by AMI and is farmed organically. Half the fruit is directed pressed and vinified in 6-8 year old barrels for 10 months without racking. The other half is processed in stainless steel. Lees ageing and blend of two vessels helps add a creaminess to the texture, which is well received. They've really nailed this one.
Tasting notes
Slightly cloudy in the glass, while the smell and taste are both electric. Not searing stuff, just sharp as a sushi knife. Green apple dominates the citrus edge. It has delicious acidity, but the wine nicely plateaus with a creamy finish, which balances it all off rather nicely. Impressive!
