Chateau Roulant

Chateau Roulant

A different take on the usually juicy Gamay. A bit more mature and old fashioned, perhaps. This comes from the same parcels as Benoit's Vagabond and is made in a similar fashion. It's more light-hearted (if you can call it that) and charming, resulting in a brighter and a wilder style, relative to its counterpart.

From vines up to seventy five years old, grown from a number of parcels and terroirs. This spent two weeks as whole bunches in concrete, before being pressed off to cuve for twelve month's rest. The old vines and complex mix of soils contribute decent depth and structure.

Tasting notes

Perfumed, as a real Beaujolais should be, but in a more restrained, serious style. It's dry and a little rough around the edges, yet the tannins are delicate and the palate has great tension and real freshness. As dynamic as the man himself. Benefits from being slightly chilled.
