Novera
Has Gamay ever tasted this good?! We're not so sure, but this is a wonderfully pure expression from Bugey. Located in Poncieux on a site with south-east exposure, this is really quite extraordinary.
From vines that are 80 years old at an altitude of 540 metres, grown calcareous rich soil. Grapes are fully de-stemmed and macerated on the skins for 3 weeks. A blend of pressed and free run juice is aged in French demi-muids for 9 months. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
Tasting notes
As seductive, silky and drinkable as they come. The red fruit is exquisite. So ripe, so fresh, so delicious. Honestly, one of the best red wines we've tried for some time. Seriously good.
