Samodia Vino Rosso

Samodia Vino Rosso

An interesting field blend of six grapes, predominantly of noble and ancient origins, from the Emilia Romagna region. Samodia's vino rosso is driven by Barbera and Sangiovese, but also contains Ancellotta and Lambrusco Grasparossa. This wine comes from old vines planted over limestone soil, over four hundred metres above sea level in a region known for its different zones of mountain, hills and plains.

Once picked, the grapes were destemmed and fermented on the skins for ten days, before being pressed to cement vats until the following spring before being bottled. It maintains the beautiful simplicity of a table wine, but offers so much more.

Tasting notes

The field blend variety always has us curious, and this one really sings. Finding perfect harmony in the glass, where everything works. Luminous in colour, it has plenty of charm with its gentle scents of red cherries, balsamic and bitter herbs. Soon to be a firm favourite and as can often be the case with Italian wines, it represents great value
