Les Terrasses Blanc
For those less familiar, Auxerrois is a dry white wine with a fruity and floral character. It has nice crispness and an understated aromatic quality that is less intense compared to other white varieties in the region. Here though, there is an added edge. This expression is a skinsy orange wine made with a delicate touch.
From vines that are thirty five year old vines, planted over terraces on sandstone of volcanic origin. The grapes were macerated as whole bunches for six days before being pressed to vats for 11 months of rest. A joy to drink.
Tasting notes
As an skinsy, orange wine, this is totally drinkable whatever the weather. It draws you into the glass and coats your palate with hazy mineral flavours, citrus and spice. There is a bit of tang and enough funk without straying too far. It has nice energy levels that is uplifting and provides refreshment in spades.
