Montagne de Schiste
This is seriously good Riesling. Good enough to convert us to being a "reezling" fan, if only to drink more of this. Jeanne and her home of Alsace have come up top trumps. Mouthwatering stuff.
From a fifty five year old parcel planted over blue schist. Yes, that's right, blue schist! The juice is pressed directly to a combination of vats and old barriques for a year of rest.
Tasting notes
This pours a brilliant shade of gold in the glass. It's a bit spicey, a bit racy, a bit... divine. Some air reveals even deeper, gorgeous flavours. The acidity and salinity is sublime. Minerals, citrus and smoke a plenty. Don't miss out on this.
